This is a historical novel narrated by the successor of Hazrat Shams Tabrez, Shams Tabrez. It was written by Wajid Ali Shah and translated to Urdu by Syed Taqi Usmani. The book contains a summary of the Urdu translation of “The History of the Holy Prophet” written by al-Mufidishi, Ibn al Athir, as well as some other works on Islamic subjects. In addition to this it also covers his own thoughts on various aspects of Islam as well as his own views on spirituality and ethics. Shams Tabrez has narrated his own story of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the events that took place during his lifetime. The history of Islam, like all other religions, begins with the life of its founder. Hazrat Shams Tabrez has explained all about the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He has described his childhood, childhood friends and their affiliations with him, as well as events that took place during his time in Mecca's cave. He also talks about his journey to Madinah where he started founding Islam. Shams Tabrez narrates all these incidents in an interesting way. He has mentioned the speciality and peculiarities of every incident and how it has contributed to the religious and social life of Muslims. The religious and social norms which were derived from those events that took place in those days, are still followed by Muslim people. Shams Tabrez also talks about the incident of “The Holy Black Stone” as well as other incidents which took place between Hazrat Khadija (PBUH) and Hazrat Aisha (R.A). Shams Tabrez has also described incidents which took place between Hazrat Ali (R.A) and Hazrat Abu Bakar(R.A), Hazrat Omar bin Khattab(R. A) and Hazrat Uthman(R.A). He has also given his own account of those incidents that took place between Hazrat Ali (R.A) and Hazrat Uthman (R.A). After the assassination of Hazrat Ali (R.A), he was succeeded by Hazrat Abu Bakar(R.A) who talked about the difficulties of caliphate and how he had to face them with the support of his companions, Hazrath Omar (R.A), and others like him. He also talked about his wife Ayesha’s attitude towards him and her opposition of his caliphate . Hazrat Omar (R.A) also talked about the incidents that took place between himself and Ayesha . The last part of the book narrates how Hazrat Umar (R.A) was chosen as successor of Hazrat Abu Bakar(R.A). How he had to fight with some companions and how he succeeded in convincing others by his wisdom and foresight. He has also mentioned some events that did not take place in his time and did not co-incidentally occur at that time. There were a lot of things which Shams Tabrez has mentioned which were not mentioned before in history books of Islam.
